Want to Take Part in Improving Your Neighborhood? Go on a Neighborhood Audit
Your neighborhood is constantly evolving, and we need your help to ensure it grows into a vibrant, safe, and clean space for all! The Byzantine Latino Quarter-Pico Business Improvement District (BID) invites you to do a self-guided Neighborhood Audit by walking the streets and helping identify areas of improvement and success.
Why Participate?
As a community member, you are the eyes and ears of our neighborhood. By completing the audit, you can directly contribute to the beautification, safety, and success of our local streets and businesses. Whether it’s noting graffiti, open tree wells, or broken sidewalks, every observation matters. Your feedback will help us prioritize action and allocate resources where they are needed most.
What to Look For
While completing the worksheet, keep an eye out for:
Graffiti
Open tree wells
Broken or dirty sidewalks
Vacant buildings
Homeless encampments
Broken streetlights
Unprotected bike lanes
And more
Be sure to document the addresses or cross streets for each issue, and brainstorm potential solutions you’d like to see implemented.
Stay Safe
We encourage all participants to prioritize their safety while performing the audit. Be sure to use crosswalks, stay aware of traffic, and bring a friend if possible for added safety. Your health and security are just as important as the work we’re doing to improve the community!
Use My311 to Report Issues
Take action while you’re out in the neighborhood by using the MyLA311 app to request city services on the go! Through the app, you can report:
Graffiti removal
Weed abatement
Bulky item pickup
And more!
By submitting service requests through MyLA311, you help expedite the process of addressing local concerns.
Get Involved and Stay Engaged
Download the worksheet, complete your audit, and email it to Jessica Legaspi at jessica@lani.org, or mail it to 800 South Figueroa Street, Suite 670, Los Angeles, CA 90017. Let’s create a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant Byzantine Latino Quarter together!
