Advisory Board Nominations

Advisory Board Eligibility

The Board will consist of property owners and business owners. The board will be limited to no more than seven members. Two of the board members may be solely business owners. All property and businesses owners within the BLQ BID boundaries are eligible to serve on the Board. Those who are elected are responsible for actively participating in the BLQ BID and should work to promote and move forward the goals of the business improvement district.

Nomination and Election Process

Board Members and officers will be nominated in an open nomination process by property and business owners and elected by property owners within the BLQ BID boundaries.

Officer and General Board Member Positions and Responsibilities

President:The president shall be the representative of the BLQ BID community and may be called upon to represent the BLQ BID community at meetings or events. The president shall serve as the first point of contact for the Board and shall maintain regular communication with LANI regarding BLQ BID matters. The president shall exercise and perform other duties as assigned by the Board or prescribed herein. The president shall run BLQ BID meetings in conjunction with LANI staff.

Vice-President: The Vice-President shall perform all the duties of the President in his or her absence, and when doing so, will have all the powers, and will be subject to the same restrictions. 

Board Members: All board members are responsible for overseeing the Board’s plans, attending meetings, providing feedback, and acting as liaisons between the BLQ BID and the business and property owners.

The Advisory Board will be responsible for approving the BLQ BID’s Annual Plan which will be prepared by LANI and submitted to the City Clerk’s Office.

A working advisory board that is actively promoting the goals set forth by the BLQ BID management plan is the foundation for a successful BID.
